Goodbye, Goodbye to Everything
- A Spodden Valley poemBy Barny Lawrence, aged 10
To house and garden, field and lawn,
Too many cars and bulldozers at dawn,
No woodland creatures or birds to sing.
Goodbye, goodbye to everything. And fare you well forevermore,
The animals, trees and forest floor,
And trees where the asbestos once did cling,
Goodbye, goodbye to everything.Crank up the bulldozer and of we go,
The trees and wildlife smaller grow,
One last go on the tree swing,
Goodbye, goodbye to everything. From woodland creatures to construction ‘bling’,
The children all in chorus sing,
Goodbye, goodbye to everything.
